Dr. Amit Kumar Chaurasia is a distinguished Interventional Cardiologist with more than two decades of experience in the field.
He holds specialized expertise in Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement (TMVR) and is particularly skilled in performing Balloon Mitral Valvotomy (BMV) and MitraClip procedures.
His interventional repertoire includes over 50 successful left atrial appendage closure procedures.
He received his medical education from some of India’s top institutions—graduating from JIPMER, Pondicherry, completing his MD in Internal Medicine from AIIMS, New Delhi, and earning a DM in Cardiology from SCTIMST, Trivandrum.
Dr. Chaurasia further enhanced his skills with a Fellowship in Complex Coronary and Structural Heart Disease at GOKI Institute in Budapest, Hungary.
He is well-versed in adult, pediatric, and peripheral interventions, with national and international recognition in the field of Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI/TAVR).
As one of India’s pioneering proctors for TAVI, he has completed over 1,000 TAVI/TAVR procedures—among the highest in the country—and performed TPVR in India’s smallest recorded conduit.
His academic and training roles include serving as a course director, co-director, and faculty at multiple national and global cardiology forums, mentoring cardiologists across borders.
Apart from valve interventions, he is highly experienced in complex procedures like left main interventions, chronic total occlusion (CTO), and frequently organizes skill-based workshops across India.
With a track record of over 10,000 cardiac procedures, he has successfully treated conditions such as ASD, VSD, PDA, and pulmonary AV fistula using device closure techniques.
He also focuses on vascular interventions, including carotid, aortoiliac diseases, and has performed TEVAR and EVAR procedures for aortic aneurysms and dissections.
Dr. Chaurasia is also involved in innovative hypertension therapies such as renal artery denervation using advanced catheter-based techniques.
A dedicated researcher, he has authored several research publications in prominent medical journals, contributing to advancements in interventional cardiology.
