Dr. Sudheer Kumar Tyagi is a veteran Neuro-Spine Surgeon with over 43 years of extensive experience in neurosurgery.
He specializes in advanced neurosurgical procedures including brain tumor surgeries, Anterior Cervical Discectomy, Brain Aneurysm Clipping, Epilepsy Surgeries, Spinal Tumor Surgery, and Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS).
Dr. Tyagi has performed over 11,000 microscopic brain and spine surgeries and more than 9,000 successful neurological procedures, including numerous Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and ablative surgeries.
He pioneered the functional stereotactic surgery program at Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, and was the first in India to implement the Image Fusion technique for targeting deep brain structures during stereotactic surgeries.
He is an expert in spinal instrumentation across all spinal levels—from cervico-occipital to lumbosacral—and is known for using frameless stereotactic navigation in epilepsy surgeries involving delicate brain regions.
Dr. Tyagi completed his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from the University of Lucknow and earned his MCh in Neurosurgery from AIIMS, New Delhi.
He has undergone specialized training in neurovascular and skull base surgery in Slovenia, stereotactic functional neurosurgery in Sydney, and spinal cord stimulation in San Francisco.
Actively involved in neurosurgical training and research, he contributes to academic programs at Apollo Hospitals.
He is a member of several esteemed medical associations, including the Delhi Neurological Association, Neurology Society of India, International Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (ISSFN), and the Association of Spinal Surgeons of India.
